The road to the state softball tournament is now set, with area teams learning their postseason assignments.

Class 1A – Region 3

Nearly all local 1A teams are in Region 3.

Monday, July 6

• AGWSR Cougars at GMG Wolverines, 5 p.m.
  • Winner advances to face St. Edmond Gaels on July 8 at the Harlan Rogers Sports Complex.
• Colo-NESCO Royals at North Mahaska Warhawks, 7 p.m.
  • Winner travels to Collins-Maxwell Spartans on July 8.
• Lynnville-Sully Hawks at BCLUW Comets, 7 p.m.
  • Winner advances to face Martensdale-St. Marys Blue Devils on July 8.
• Baxter Bolts at North Tama Redhawks, 7 p.m.
  • Winner faces Ankeny Christian Eagles on July 8 at the North Polk Middle School.

Class 2A – Region 8

Both East Marshall Mustangs and Grundy Center Spartans received first-round byes.

Wednesday, July 8

• 2A#13 East Marshall hosts the winner of Central Springs Panthers vs. West Fork Warhawks.
• Grundy Center hosts Denver Cyclones.

• West Marshall Trojans hosts the winner of Belmond-Klemme Broncos vs. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys.

Thursday, July 9

• Marshalltown Bobcats hosts Des Moines East Scarlets.
  • The winner travels to face Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs on July 11.
