College Men’s Basketball
#6 Tennessee 76 #2 Iowa State 62
Iowa State playing without Joshua Jefferson just couldn’t match the size of Tennessee. Iowa State trailed just 34 to 33 at halftime but would score just 29 points in the second half. Tennessee out rebounded Iowa State 43 to 22. The Cyclones shot just 5 for 23 from the 3 point line. The Volunteers also won points in the paint 42 to 30. Tamin Lipsey led Iowa State with 18 points as his career came to an end. Milan Momcilovic was smothered all night by the Tennessee defense and had just 6 points finishing 2 of 9 from the floor and 2 for 8 from 3. Cyclones now just 1 and 7 in the Sweet 16.

Tonight’s Schedule
Today on the local sports scene the MHS Boys Track team will run at the Don Graves Classic in Des Moines at 11:30 a.m.
Junior College Baseball- MCC at NIACC for 2 games starting at 1 PM, Ellsworth will travel to Southwestern for a 9 Inning Game at 2 PM.
Junior College Softball- Ellsworth hosts Northeast for a double header at 1 PM.
College Men’s Basketball- #9 Iowa will play #3 Illinois in the Elite 8 at the Toyota Center in Houston. The game can be seen on TBS with the tip around 5:09 PM.
