Stop in and visit our Library\, Historical\nSociety\, and Schoolhouse. Along with the events\, take time to explore the many\nbeautiful areas that surround the area. \nFriday\, August 30th\n5:00-7:00 PM\nThe Library Committee will be hosting its annual Gourmet Burger fundraiser at the Boat Club.\nAlong with the dinner there will be a pie auction. The dinner is of a free will offering. Stop in the\nlibrary on Saturday morning to check out many of the updates!\n7:00 PM\nJoin the Historical Society to hear our guest speaker. O.J. Fargo is the author of two books on Iowa\nhistory and everyday life of a Civil War soldier and Iowa in the Civil War. His program is entitled:\nJust Before the Battle Mother- A Visit from a Civil War Soldier. Mr. Fargo dresses in full Union\nArmy regalia for his presentation\, will bring an artifact display\, engage with the audience\, and\nmuch more. \nSaturday\, August 31st\n8:00AM\n5 K sponsored by the Visionary Group. Registration is at Washington Square.\n7:30 – 10:00 AM\nOmelet Breakfast sponsored by The Steamboat Rock Pride & Betterment Committee at the\nPresbyterian Church. Made to order omelets are a treat you won’t to miss! Get your protein to\nsustain you through the rest of the morning or to refuel after the SK!\n9:00 AM – 1 :00 PM\nThe Historical Society will be open. Browse through the Historical Society Museum and take a\nwalk through Steamboat Rock’s past.\n10:00 AM – 1 PM\nThe Steamboat Rock Library will be open. Stop by and check the many new improvements that\n1:00PM\n3 rd Annual Battle of the Bags at Happenings on Market Street. The Battle starts at 1 :00\, please\nsign up by noon.\nDusk\nSaturday Night Fireworks display at the Ball Diamond. \nSunday\, September 1st\n7:00-9:00AM\nStart your morning with a great breakfast at the Boat Club.\n10:00AM\nCommunity Worship Service at the Steamboat Rock Cemetery. Pastor Lynn Arends from the\nSteamboat Rock Presbyterian Church will be bringing the message and worship will be led by the\nSteamboat Rock Baptist Church. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket.\n12:00 Noon- Meal at Mama’s at the Schoolhouse. \nMonday\, Sept.2nd 4:00 – 7:00 PM\nChicken and sweet com at the Boat Club.
