Marshalltown hosted the Bobcat Classic on Saturday, opening the tournament with a 15-7 victory over Colfax-Mingo before defeating BCLUW 6-4. The Bobcats wrapped up the day with an 8-6 loss to Grundy Center. Grundy Center also suffered a 15-1 loss to Class 2A No. 1 Grandview Christian. BCLUW dropped a hard-fought 2-1 decision to Clarke.

At the Don Bosco Tournament, Class 2A No. 13 East Marshall outslugged Jesup 14-11 in its opener before falling 9-0 to West Marshall. West Marshall also earned an 8-1 victory over Belmond-Klemme to finish the day with a perfect 2-0 record.

At the Dunkerton Tournament, AGWSR opened with a 10-3 win over North Cedar before dropping a pair of close games, falling 6-5 to East Buchanan and 8-6 to Dunkerton.

In high school baseball action at the Brent Prange Classic, West Marshall was edged by Boone 1-0 in its first game before bouncing back to defeat Coon Rapids-Bayard 7-6.

On the softball schedule, Marshalltown travels to Des Moines Lincoln. West Marshall is at Nevada, while BCLUW hosts North Tama. Colo-NESCO welcomes Baxter, Oelwein visits East Marshall, Collins-Maxwell travels to GMG, Hudson is at Grundy Center, Iowa Falls-Alden plays at Clear Lake, South Hardin travels to Dike-New Hartford, and South Tama is at Mount Vernon.

In baseball, Gladbrook-Reinbeck hosts Jesup, AGWSR travels to St. Ansgar, and BCLUW hosts North Tama. You can hear the BCLUW game at 7 p.m. on 92.9 FM or watch it live at KDAO.com. Colo-NESCO hosts Baxter, with live video coverage beginning at 7:15 p.m. on KDAO.com.
