We start on the hardwood, where history was made in the WNBA last night. Caitlin Clark put on an absolute clinic, dropping a franchise-record 45 points and dishing out 10 assists to lead the Indiana Fever past the Seattle Storm in a 110-to-107 thriller. With that performance, Clark becomes the first player in WNBA history to ever record a 40-point, 10-assist game.
Turning to Major League Baseball, the most eye-popping score of the night came from Sacramento, where the Washington Nationals absolutely demolished the Athletics 23-to-4. Andres Chaparro launched two home runs and drove in a whopping eight RBIs to lead the Nats’ historic offensive explosion.
The Dodgers edged out the Yankees 2-to-1.
The Red Sox swept their doubleheader against the Rays, taking Game One 10-to-0 and Game Two 5-to-3.
The White Sox doubled up the Blue Jays 12-to-4.
The Braves hammered the Rangers 15-to-1.
The Brewers needed extras but walked off the Marlins 2-to-1 in 10 innings.
The Twins took care of the Cubs 5-to-2.
The Orioles slipped past the Astros 3-to-2.
The Royals beat the Padres 7-to-6 in 10 frames.
The Reds handled the Rockies 7-to-2.
The Tigers beat the Angels 2-to-1.
The Cardinals topped the Diamondbacks 5-to-4.
And the Giants shut out the Mariners 7-to-0.
