High School Girls Soccer

Marshalltown 3 DM Lincoln 2

Bobcats held on to get their first win of the year. Marshalltown got out to a 3 to 0 lead on 2 goals by Lilyia Christen in the 5th and 12th minute, Claire Bonzer would score the 3rd goal in the 58th minute. Lincoln would score on a corner kick as the ball hit off Jorja Janssen and went in to cut the score to 3-1 in the 65th minute. Just 4 minutes later the Rails would score again this time off another corner the ball was in the box and Trinity Kidder got just enough of the ball to send it past the Marshalltown Goal Keeper. Over the last 11 minute of the match Lincoln couldn’t muster many chances as the Bobcats closed out the match to get their first win of the year. It’s also the first win for new Head Coach Kameron Nehring.

High School Boys Golf

Grundy Center won a very competitive quad in Conrad shooting a 145, East Marshall 2nd 154, BCLUW 3rd 164 and Colfax Mingo 4th 192. Grundy Center Judd Jirovsky won medalist honors shooting 3 under par 32, Jaxon Kieweit shot even par a 35. BCLUW Zaden Egger finished 4 over with a 39. East Marshall led by Cody Weaver with a 1 Over 36, Jackson Bidwell 3 over 38.

High School Girls Golf

BCLUW 192, East Marshall 257, Colfax Mingo didn’t have a team score. BCLUW swept medalist honors with Leah McEwen winning medalist honors with a 42, teammate Gracie Andrews runner up with a 44. East Marshall led by Hayliee Versteegh 57.

Junior College Softball

Iowa Western swept MCC 19 to 1 and 19 to 3. Tigers now travel to Southwestern on Sunday.

Junior College Baseball

MCC’s games at home vs Northeast Iowa CC have been postponed. MCC and Northeast Iowa will play a 9 Inning game on Sunday with a double header on Monday.

Tonight’s Schedule

Today on the local sports scene in Track the Marshalltown boys and girls will compete at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. Some member of the Grundy Center Boys and South Hardin Boys Track teams will go to Iowa City West.

Golf the Grundy Center Girls will compete in the Benton Invite.
