Take in the beauty of rural Iowa on this 41-mile route through five local communities.
Registration is $15, and includes Food Expo Vendor coupons for bikers that pre-register prior
to August 23.
8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. All Iowa BBQ Showdown
The mouth watering aroma drifting from the grills of our area BBQ experts will tempt you as you
enjoy Taste Iowa events. Our expert panel begins BBQ judging at 12:30 p.m., with awards
presented beginning at 2:00 p.m. Don’t miss the People’s Choice voting, beginning at 12:30 p.m.
BBQ Showdown Judges are: Chuck Carpenter, KDAO Radio; Larry Wiebel, Managing
Editor of Our Town Magazine; and Betsy Freese, Editor of Living the Country Life Magazine.
9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Musical Entertainment – The Banjoy Band
This bluegrass band is well-known throughout the Midwest and features a unique style
of bluegrass music. They play everything from classic bluegrass and gospel songs to
original music and lively instrumentals. Enjoy!
9:30 a.m. & 11:45 a.m. Guest Chef – Chef Haley Silhacek
We welcome back award-winning Chef Haley for this popular segment of Taste Iowa! She
specializes in using local food sources to create delicious dishes and her demonstrations
today feature a fire-roasted corn and tomato salsa and a pineapple and mango salsa. Yum!
9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Salsa Tasting Expo
Calling all salsa lovers! GNB staffers have used their own special salsa recipes, using locally
grown produce, in a bid to be the best GNB Salsa Maker! Come sample the salsas and vote
for your favorite! Each salsa represents a local non-profit organization and the organization
whose salsa receives the most votes will win $100!
10:30 a.m. Informational Seminar
Incorporating Fruits & Vegetables into Your Diet: A produce-rich diet offers many health
benefits. Learn how to work the optimal amount into to your daily eating routine in order

This Irish Acoustic Trio revels in the traditional melodies & acoustic instrumentation of
the Celtic music genre. This fun-loving trio channels the feel of an Irish pub and delivers
mellow, richly beautiful ballads and stirring rebel songs of the Irish people.
2:00 p.m. All Iowa BBQ Showdown and Judging Awards
Which team will come away with the People’s Choice for best taste? Whose combination
of rubs and cooking method will sway the judges? Relax in your lawn chair, enjoy the
